I'm trying for about 3 days to install fingerprint sensor for my new HP 8460p notebook. The fingerprint sensor is Validity VFS471. The driver is installed, HP ProtectTools is installed but I don't have any option for Fingerprint enrollment in ProtectTools. I have used a ThinkPad T61 for about 3.

I suggest you to uninstall fingerprint reader software from the computer and reinstall it in compatibility mode and check. Follow the below steps

Step1: Uninstall fingerprint reader software.

1. Press Windows key + X on the keyboard.

2. Click on Control Panel

3. Go to Programs and Features

4. Right click your fingerprint reader software from the list and tap or click Uninstall.

5. Reboot your machine

Step 2: If you have executable file of the corresponding driver, I suggest you to install the downloaded driver file in compatible mode. Follow the steps:

1. Right click on the driver, and click on Properties.

2. Go to the Compatibility tab.
