I have just installed Windows 7 on a very old desktop. The installation finished fine, but after that I cannot get internet access. The network adapter shows 'Unidentified Network' with no access to Internet and displays it as public. I tried resetting the sockets or manually adding a default gateway - nothing worked. The driver seems to work fine, though even if it didn't there are no network adapter drivers for this motherboard for Windows 7/Vista. The connection is supposed to happen through a wired router, but even plugging the internet cable directly into the network card returns the same error.
