VMware compatibility matrix shows that this hardware is compatible with ESXi 6.0 Update 1. When I upgraded from ESXi 5.5 Update 1 to ESXi 6.0 Update 1 my host networking is't working. On iLO console I can see host showing upgrade to ESXi 6.0 Update 1 with all the configs still in there, but I can't ping it in or ping out of it.

Version:2012.03.19 (A) (4 Jun 2012)

Upgrade Requirement:
Recommended - HP recommends users update to this version at their earliest convenience.

Important Notes:

None

Firmware Dependencies:

None

Problems Fixed:

Resolved an issue where systems running with AMD Opteron Series 6200 processors would not enter the Core C6 processor power state even when the ROM Based Setup Utility (RBSU) 'Minimum Processor Idle Power State' was set to the Default setting of 'Core C6 (CC6) State'. Functional Core C6 is a requirement to fully enable AMD Turbo CORE Technology.

Addressed an issue where rare PCI Express Errors may have previously resulted in a system crash or unexpected system behavior without any source indicated.

Known Issues:

None

Added a ROM Based Setup Utility (RBSU) option to allow the system to run memory at the highest or lowest supported voltage. In some cases, operating at the highest voltage may result in higher memory frequency settings and improved performance. The option 'DIMM Voltage Preference' can be used to select between 'Optimized for Performance' and 'Optimized for Power'. The 'Optimized for Power' selection will run memory at the lowest possible voltage and may provide power savings.

Added a ROM Based Setup Utility (RBSU) option to disable the Stack Engine Prediction logic in the AMD Opteron Series 6200 processor. The option 'Stack Engine Prediction' is enabled by default and HP does not recommend changing this setting.

Version:2011.12.31 (A) (29 Mar 2012)

Upgrade Requirement:
Recommended - HP recommends users update to this version at their earliest convenience.

Important Notes:

None

Firmware Dependencies:

None

Problems Fixed:

Resolved an issue where systems running with AMD Opteron Series 6100 processors could experience uncorrectable memory address errors when running with the 'Minimum Processor Idle Power State' ROM Based Setup Utility (RBSU) option set to 'C1E State (AMD C1 Clock Ramping)'. This error may not be an indication of a failed DIMM or other system component, but rather an issue with memory initialization which is addressed by this revision of the System ROM. When running with the 12/28/2011 system ROM, this error will be reported in the Integrated Management Log (IML) as an Uncorrectable Machine Check Exception with Bank 0x00000004, Status 0xXXXXXXXX'XXXDXXXX (where X indicates the value does not matter). HP recommends that users who are experiencing unexpected reboots with System ROMs earlier than the 12/28/2011 System ROM or Integrated Management Log entries as indicated when using the 12/28/2011 System ROM upgrade to this revision of the System ROM before replacing any hardware components.

Known Issues:

None

Version:2011.12.28 (A) (28 Feb 2012)

Upgrade Requirement:
Recommended - HP recommends users update to this version at their earliest convenience.

Important Notes:

None

Firmware Dependencies:

None

Problems Fixed:

Resolved an issue where the Integrated Management Log (IML) would not indicate an error event on certain error conditions that result in an unexpected reboot.

Known Issues:

None

Added support for 4-core AMD Opteron 6200-series processors. While 4-core AMD Opteron 6200-series processors would boot and appear to work with previous revisions of the System ROM, this revision is the minimum required for proper operation.

Version:2011.12.10 (A) (20 Jan 2012)

Upgrade Requirement:
Recommended - HP recommends users update to this version at their earliest convenience.

Important Notes:

Users should update to this version of the System ROM for any systems configured with AMD Opteron 6100 Series processors and the 10/02/2011 System ROM version. The 10/02/2011 System ROM version has a known issue that can result in a no boot condition with no video display, the system locking up or rebooting due to an uncorrectable memory error, or correctable memory threshold error events being reported when using AMD Opteron 6100 Series processors. These errors are due to a firmware issue and are not a result of a problem with the system hardware or installed DIMMs. Due to this issue, the 10/02/2011 System ROM has been removed from the HP Support Site.

Firmware Dependencies:

None

Problems Fixed:

Resolved an issue in the 10/02/2011 System ROM where the system may not boot with AMD Opteron-series 6100 processors and Low Voltage DDR3 DIMMs. In rare cases the system would boot and have an increased risk of memory ECC errors. The system would still correctly detect and log the memory errors.

Known Issues:

None

Added support for DDR3 1600 MHz DIMMs. With previous revisions of the System ROM, these DIMMs would function but would be limited to frequencies below 1600 MHz. With this revision of the System ROM, DDR3 1600 MHz DIMMs will operate at 1600 MHz when using AMD Opteron 6200-series processors with all populated memory channels containing Single or Dual-Rank DIMMs.

Added an Advanced Performance Tuning ROM-Based Setup Utility (RBSU) option to disable the CPU Cache Stride Prefetcher. The option can be found under the Advanced Options menu in RBSU. In very limited environments, disabling the stride prefetcher can give performance improvements. HP recommends leaving the stride prefetcher enabled in most environments.

Version:2011.05.10 (A) (19 Jul 2011)

Upgrade Requirement:
Critical - HP requires users update to this version immediately.

Important Notes:

None

Firmware Dependencies:

None

Problems Fixed:

Resolved an extremely intermittent issue that can result in a system reset or operating system crash (such as a VMware ESX Purple Screen of Death - PSoD) when the system is in a virtualized environment.

Resolved an issue that affects systems with specific DIMM configurations when the Advanced Memory Protection Mode is configured for Online Spare which can result in uncorrectable memory errors, correctable memory threshold errors, or system crashes after the system fails over to the spare memory. This affects systems with the following DIMM configurations: Memory channel configured with 3 or 5 ranks of memory (example is 1 Single Rank DIMM and one Dual Rank DIMM on a channel) and one rank on the memory channel is larger than all others and all other ranks are the same size.

Known Issues:

None

Enhanced HP’s Memory Pre-failure Alert support with HP Advanced Memory Error Detection Technology. This innovation analyzes multiple parameters of correctable memory error events and intelligently detects when the system is at an increased probability of non-recoverable memory conditions that would result in unplanned downtime or when correctable memory errors may degrade system performance. HP Advanced Memory Error Detection Technology will increase server uptime by accurately determining when a server administrator should schedule planned maintenance to replace DIMMs preventing unnecessary planned downtime and reducing the probability of unplanned downtime.

Added several performance tuning options into the ROM-Based Setup Utility (RBSU). The following options were added to RBSU: 'Hardware Prefetch Training on Software Prefetch', 'DRAM Prefetch on CPU Request', 'DRAM Prefetch on I/O Request', and 'CPU Core Hardware Prefetcher'. All of these options are enabled by default. While in most cases leaving these options enabled will provide optimum performance, there are workloads where disabling one or more of these options will improve performance.

Added the ability to configure the 'NIC Personality Options' to iSCSI or FCoE for the HP NC553m 10Gb 2-Port FlexFabric Adapter in the ROM-Based Setup Utility (RBSU).

Added latest product names of optional expansion cards for display in the ROM-Based Setup Utility (RBSU).

Version:2011.01.29 (A) (15 Apr 2011)

Upgrade Requirement:
Recommended - HP recommends users update to this version at their earliest convenience.

Important Notes:

None

Firmware Dependencies:

None

Problems Fixed:

Resolved an extremely intermittent issue that can result in a system reset or operating system crash (such as a Windows Blue Screen, Linux Kernel Panic, or VMware ESX PSoD) when the system is under heavy I/O load. This issue is typically seen with systems configured with a large amount of optional PCI-express expansion cards.

Resolved an issue where the system may not be able to install an operating system to an iSCSI-based storage solution when using the local DVD drive.
