Check the device status in device manager.Follow the steps for the same:

a. Click on start

b. Click on run, in run box type in devmgmt.msc

c. In device manager window, search for the device by device name and expand the drive, double click on the sub item to check if any error message or error code is listed.

4. It says: This device is not configured correctly. (Code 1)

To reinstall the drivers for this device, click Reinstall Driver.

I tried to reinstall it without any luck.

Hi Michael J. Tritter,

I would suggest you to uninstall the drivers completely with the software from the device manager, follow the below steps:

a.Click Start, type devmgmt.msc and press enter.

b.Locate sound device

c.Right click on the device and select uninstall

d.Also place a check mark beside the option “delete driver files for the device”

e.Install the latest drivers for the device from the manufacturer’s website

Adding to it, I would suggest you to install Service pack 3 on the computer that improves the reliability of Windows by installing the latest software updates - new drivers for the hardware and more.
